Bio
My name is Madden Baker, and I'm a sophomore at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. I play LSM and defense for my travel teams — a versatile player who excels in transition and in man-down situations. I'm also a dual-sport athlete, playing defensive back for my football team in the fall. I work hard year-round, weight training and training with a speed and agility coach, and I work just as hard in the classroom as I do on the field, taking challenging classes and maintaining a high GPA.
CPS Evaluation
Madden is a fast, high-motor cover defender who wins with elite footwork and closing speed. He has the athleticism to play both LSM and close defense. He brings the kind of on-ball pressure and takeaway ability that gets a defender noticed — coaches came away from his summer events with a strong impression of his motor and coverage, and he was named Defensive MVP of the all-star game at the 2026 Apex Summer Championship Tournament. His speed and impeccable footwork give him the ability to lock down quicker attackmen and turn defense to offense with transition, filling a real need at the Division I level. A two-sport athlete who also plays defensive back in football, he competes with physicality, instincts, and the conditioning of someone who trains year-round.
In the classroom Madden is just as driven — a 4.0 GPA on a demanding course load — and he's maximizing his standardized testing to widen his college options. His leadership shows off the field too — he's set to be a team captain next season and serves as his class president. CPS projects him as a Division I close defender whose speed and compete level continue to set him apart.
