Goalie · Class of 2028

Matt Hance

Highlights

Bio

My name is Matt Hance, and I'm a 2028 goalie playing for True Lacrosse on several teams, including True National White and True NoVa Black. I attend Bishop O'Connell High School, where I'm the starting varsity goalie and compete in the WCAC against some of the best competition in the country — and I love the challenge. Lacrosse is one of my favorite things in the world, and I also value spending time with my friends and family.

I'm grateful for every opportunity I get to step on the field. As a driven, disciplined student-athlete, I want to play lacrosse at the top level while earning a high-quality education, so I stay on top of my schoolwork and stay committed to studying and training — determined to perform at a high level both in the classroom and on the field.

CPS Evaluation

Matt is a Class of 2028 goalie who pairs real size in the cage (6'2") with the discipline and competitiveness of a varsity starter. He backs one of the country's toughest schedules in the WCAC at Bishop O'Connell and trains at a high level, including work at the GoalieSmith camp, bringing the poise, communication, and reflexes that translate to the next level. He is tough, driven, and consistent — the kind of goalie a coaching staff can build around.

Where Matt truly separates is in the classroom: a 4.31 GPA and a rising standardized-test profile put him among the strongest students in his class, with interests in sports medicine and law. That academic ceiling makes him an ideal fit for the country's top academic lacrosse programs — the Ivy League, high-academic Division I, and top NESCAC/Division III programs are the clear priority — and a postgraduate year remains a live option to maximize both his development and his placement. CPS projects Matt as a high-academic-fit goalie who profiles cleanly for the country's top academic programs.
